Would you like to improvise? Play by ear? Sight-read - i.e. hear a score instantly in your head? Do you like the idea of being a fluent and natural musician but have always felt that this was something only available to those with natural talent?

If you understand the language of music, I believe you can learn to "speak" it too! The training I offer musically empowers you and unlocks your expressive talents in ways that traditional methods of musical learning do not. Learning to play pieces by rote does not interest me nor does a dry, theoretical approach.

Musical fluency is achieved by learning through play, nurturing a sense of joy in mastery without pressure. Generating real musicianship and unlocking inner rhythmic and tonal awareness is my passion. I provide students with all the necessary resources so they do not need to buy additional learning materials. They also have access to the online community, Musically Fluent, which is also available to the public. To take a look at it, click here.

The guidance I offer is always tailored to fit the unique needs and style of each individual. I am happy to help students prepare for graded examinations and diplomas although my learning specification does not correspond with any existing board. Passing examinations is no indication that true musical fluency is being achieved. Click here to see an outline of what you study with me.

I am based in Fulham, London SW6 and my fees are £45 per hour or £25 per half-hour.

As an alternative I can teach online; please email me if you would like to set up a Skype lesson.

I also do programmes for schools. Click here to find out more.
